New HP Inkjet Printers Produce Vivid Colors

The HP DeskJet 850 printers, available exclusively in the U.S. and Canada, produce professional black text and color images that rival photographic printing. Both the 850C and 855C exploit a RISC processor, new print-head design and firmware improvements to print faster. A pigment-based ink produces richer black text than other inkjet printers. In addition, new Color Resolution Enhancement technology (C-REt) selects from four color-intensity levels per pixel to blend and layer color hues for clear, vivid output. ColorSmart selects the optimal color or grayscale tone for text, graphics and photographic images. The new DeskJet printers are manufactured with recycled plastic and comply with the EPA's Energy Star standards. Hewlett Packard, Palo Alto, CA, (800) 752-0900, www.hp.com.
