Consortium Receives Sixth FIPSE Grant

The League for Innovation in the Community College has won its sixth FIPSE (Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education) grant, worth $270,000 over three years, for a proposal entitled "Building Student Success into Tech-Prep Programs." The project aims to assist community colleges in implementing tech-prep programs focused on student success. The League will study 12 nationally recognized exemplary tech-prep programs, develop a set of student guidelines, then test the guidelines at sites across the country. Final guidelines will be published and disseminated at the League's annual conference on workforce development issues, "WORKFORCE 2000," to be held Jan. 31 - Feb. 3, 1996, in Orlando, Fla.
