College Search SW Enhanced by Users

The Fall 95 edition of CollegeView, a multimedia college-search program, boasts an enhanced database called KeyFact, proprietary search capabilities and more. All improvements were suggested by students. CollegeView's database comprises a proprietary collection of text, graphics, audio and video information on 3,368 two- and four-year colleges and universities. Searches can be conducted using a broad range of criteria. For instance, new to the Fall 95 version is the ability to search based on fields of study in addition to majors. Also updated is AppZap, the function that lets students apply electronically to college. Now a student can copy a college application from the CollegeView workstation to a diskette, take it home and fill it out, then either file it electronically via the workstation or print it out and mail it to the institution. Finally, home access is provided via the firm's new CollegeView Web Edition, in which students and their parents search for a college over the World Wide Web. The Web edition includes the newest search capabilities, the KeyFact database, plus WebViews, which are multimedia presentations on institutions. Each WebView includes an e-mail link to a college's admissions office and a hotlink to their home page. Find the Web edition at www.collegeview.com. CollegeView, Cincinnati, OH, (800) 927-VIEW.
