SW Teaches Literacy, Lets Kids Write Books

The Little Planet Literacy Series builds literacy by promoting comprehension. It teaches a wide range of language arts by engaging young readers in challenges within a meaningful context. Students begin by watching an animated "anchor" story. With the aid of a storyboard, they revisit the theme and plot, gaining a deeper understanding while working as a group. Students then put their experience and new-found knowledge to immediate use, publishing their own ReadAlong Books. The Little Planet Literacy Series was developed and tested in cooperation with the Learning Technology Center at Vanderbilt University.
