Edit Video On PC for Less Than $900

MovieX, from TV One, is a high-performance, low-cost desktop video editing system that provides a choice of editing methods. A complete package for digital video recording, playback and editing, it features a Motion-JPEG hardware board with MovieX Capture software. S-VHS quality is obtainable -- the system can capture up to 30 fps at 640x480 resolution, with composite and S-video inputs and outputs. Non-linear editing can be accomplished with Ulead's MediaStudio software or TV One's EditX program, both included. Off-line or "hybrid" editing is done using EditX and their ControlX VCR controller product. Synchr'edit software, also included, allows multiple digital devices (such as sound and capture cards) and analog devices (such as VCRs) to be synchronously timecode controlled. MovieX needs at least a 486/66, 16MB RAM, one ISA slot and Windows 3.1. TV One, Erlanger, KY, (800) 721-4044. W
