Firm Upgrades All Its Sound Systems

Perma Power, a manufacturer of portable sound systems for over 30 years, has changed its name to AmpliVox and upgraded its entire product line to better meet the needs of multimedia presenters. While the heart of the AmpliVox line is the S-802 Multimedia Stereo Amplifier (see T.H.E., March 96, p. 56), other products also fit many educational settings. The S-500 Sound Column Lecturn, for example, moves easily on hidden casters; and the S-250 Tabletop Lecturn is suitable for an audience of up to 1,000. The Roving Rostrum packs a microphone, amplifier, lecturn and two speakers into a lightweight package; and the well-named Half-Mile Hailer, designed for sporting events, crowd control and other outdoor uses. Various accessories can be added to the sound systems to provide greater functionality. AmpliVox, Buffalo Grove, IL, (847) 465-5000, http://www.ampli.com
