Asante Technologies' NetDoubler for Windows NT network acceleration software now comes bundled with Intergraph Computer Systems' InterServe line of PrePress servers. With NetDoubler, users can realize up to four times faster throughput during large file transfers over the network. The software works seamlessly with Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Type Manager, QuarkXPress and other desktop applications.
"This bundle gives users extra-fast performance when sending large and complex graphics files to the InterServe PrePress Server without any worries about compatibility," said Jim Lambert, executive director of Intergraph's Publishing and PrePress division. "Intro. to Fiber Optics" combines software with paper-based word searches, crossword puzzles and worksheets to teach students about fiber optic cables and their uses in the modern world, from medical to military fields. The program begins with a history of light communications and proceeds to a discussion of how fiber optic cables are manufactured.
