This January, CNN Newsroom hits the campaign trail to give students a voice in the 2000 elections. A special correspondent will travel the nation reporting on the 2000 election campaigns, offering classrooms a comprehensive view of the American election process. Coverage will include a look at the process (the structure of political parties, how candidates are chosen, the primary-caucus-convention process), the candidates, the events, the money, the polls and the voters. CNN Student Bureau reporters from across the country will contribute to the election coverage. Newsroom will offer teachers free, educator-designed materials to help integrate the program into their curriculum throughout the school year. On Jan. 12, A&E looks at the life of a famed composer with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This biography will look at Mozart’s way of composing music in his own style, rather than bending to the popular opinion of the time. The program also strives to discuss the difference between popular music and original music, and to decide whether or not Mozart was a nonconformist. Another biography of interest comes around on Jan. 31 when A&E presents Mother Theresa: A Life of Devotion.
