Farallon’s SkyLINE Wireless PC Card provides Macintosh PowerBook and PC notebook users wireless access to network resources like file servers, e-mail, printers and the Internet. The real-time statistics and signal strength indicator allow the local network administrator to quickly configure the optimum placement of access points, saving thousands of dollars in added hardware and engineering expenses.

The card offers Macintosh PowerBook users interoperability with Apple’s iBook and AirPort wireless options. In addition, SkyLine-equipped computers can connect to a wired Ethernet network through IEEE 802.11 DSSS-compatible access points. Users can also create an ad hoc peer-to-peer network between two or more portable computers. A unique Control Panel provides a real-time signal strength meter (Macintosh version), network statistics and dynamic configuration, omitting the need to restart.
