Scholastic's Teacher Radio is a half-hour, magazine-style program, which airs Monday through Thursday via the Internet at www.scholastic.com. Each program focuses on topics of interest to teachers, including interviews with authors and education experts (such as math maven Marilyn Burns, reading specialists Sharon Taberski and Jon Scieszka, author of The Stinky Cheese Man), advice and inspiring stories from fellow teachers, humor from the classroom, news about education, and reviews of books and educational software.
Teacher-listeners can lend their voices to Teacher Radio by contributing personal and inspirational commentaries, teaching tips and stories from the classroom, via Teacher Radio's 800-number or by e-mail. The show will also include audio segments that teachers can share with their students in class, such as authors speaking about writing and book readings. Created to meet the busy lifestyles and hectic work schedules of most teachers, Teacher Radio can be heard each day at the listener's convenience.
