What a Switch

FriendlyNET FS5016 from Asante Technologies is a 16-port switch with a dedicated network bandwidth of 100 Mbps per port, or 200 Mbps in full duplex mode. At $21 per port (estimated street price), the FS5016 has the lowest cost-per-port of any Asante 10/100 switch. It features big performance in a small footprint and easy installation, and is available in translucent or low-profile case designs.

The switch automatically negotiates network bandwidth up to 200 Mbps per port (full duplex mode). For modern networks handling larger documents or files, the switch delivers great performance at a reasonable price. Each port in the hub automatically negotiates the fastest data rate (up to 100 Mbps) for maximum performance. Internally, the hub logically connects all 10 Mbps devices onto one network segment and 100 Mbps devices onto another network segment. An integrated 10/100 switch bridges all devices on both segments together. Asante Technologies, San Jose, CA, (800) 566-6680, www.asante.com.
