PDA Software...Media-X

Media-X's updated performance appraisal system for Palm OS handhelds, mVal 1.06, is currently being used by K-12 principals and faculty in colleges of education to complete performance appraisals for teaching staff. The updated version comes with up to nine "look for" statements for each professional standard in appraising staff. These supplement the rubric statements and allow the evaluator to check off the "look fors" that apply. The program's "Report Maker" feature gives evaluators three options to print an entire evaluation at the touch of a button: They can print rubrics only, print rubric statements and look for checklists, or print edited anecdotal comments. In addition, Media-X also offers mVal: Student, which is intended for completing observations with students instead of staff. Media-X, Ottawa, Ontario, (888) 722-9990, www.media-x.com.
