Security Tools... Aristotle Desktop Usage Monitor

The Aristotle Desktop Usage Monitor is a tool that alerts educators of dangerous or undesirable computer activity without infringing on students' First Amendment rights. Unlike filtering software, Aristotle works from the computer desktop, monitoring and automatically alerting school staff to any inappropriate correspondence, potential hackers or anything that would merit intervention by administrators. The tool also generates reports that show computer usage by application, students, grades and class. Sergeant Laboratories Inc., La Crosse, WI, (608) 788-9143, www.sgtlabs.com.
