R3000 Enterprise Filter

Fortified with Intelligent Footprint Technology (IFT), the R3000 Enterprise Filter from 8e6 Technologies (www.8e6.com) offers a full spectrum of Web content filtering, including instant messaging (IM) and peer-to-peer management functionality. The R3000 is an appliance-based device that does not require installation of software on the desktop or an inline connection. The R3000's IFT works to block IM services by detecting the actual IM packets that could be sent to unknown servers, private servers or proxy servers. Peer-to-peer packets also can be detected to block login or file-transfer packets, thereby removing the ability to use the application. Educational institutions will benefit the most from IFT's ability to monitor and/or block the use of popular IM services and peer-to-peer applications.
