Advanced IBM Web Portal Fosters University’s Growth

IBM - WebSphereMichigan’s Spring Arbor University has teamed up with IBM (www.ibm.com/learning) to use an advanced Web portal that provides students, staff and faculty on their main campus and at 14 satellite locations with access to Web-based services, including e-mail, online courses, financial resources and information about student activities. The portal, which is based on IBM’s WebSphere software platform, is the university’s attempt to answer its technology challenges, as wellas an efficient place for its students to access important aspects of their academic and social lives. Spring Arbor has experienced rapid growth over the last four years, and IBM has given them a solution by combining the reliability of its old enterprise resource planning system with the flexibility of a standardized and scalable Web platform.
