Viewpoint School Deploys Xirrus Wi-Fi Network for Campuswide Connectivity

Xirrus Inc., a provider of high-capacity, long-range Wi-Fi products that can effectively extend wired network capabilities to wireless without compromise, has deployed its Wi-Fi solution to support the new campuswide wireless network at Viewpoint School, the sixth largest independent school in the California Association of Independent Schools, located in Calabasas, CA. The campuswide Wi-Fi network stretches across the 25-acre campus, connecting more than 1,200 students and faculty. Capital One, JA Unveil Mobile Financial Literacy Program for Middle School Students

Capital One Financial Corp. and JA Worldwide (Junior Achievement) have teamed up to create the Capital One/Junior Achievement Finance Park that was unveiled last week in Washington before it heads to Fairfax and Richmond, VA, this fall. The Capital One/Junior Achievement Finance Park is a mobile, interactive classroom—two 53-foot semitrucks that feature 2,000 square feet of training space and can host up to 60 students at a time—where students are given real-life financial situations and taught how to make important decisions on money matters and establish a personal budget. Finance Park will be in Fairfax from Oct. 12-Oct. 25 and in Richmond from Oct. 30-Nov. 8. More than 200 Capital One volunteers will staff the Capital One/Junior Achievement Finance Park and mentor the nearly 1,000 students who will pass through the mobile, interactive classroom this fall. LeapFrog SchoolHouse Teams With Gymboree for School-Readiness Programs

LeapFrog SchoolHouse, the school division of LeapFrog Enterprises Inc., has announced that Gymboree Play & Music, a provider of parent-child play and learning programs, will offer LeapFrog SchoolHouse products in two new programs designed to help children gain key skills in preparation for prekindergarten and kindergarten classes.
