Michigan School District Launches Online Student Information System

Ann Arbor Public School District, in Ann Arbor, MI, said it plans to launch PowerSchool Premier, a Web-based student information system from Pearson School Systems, this spring. The technology will provide parents and students with daily access to student information online, according to Pearson.
"PowerSchool Premier enables all stakeholders within Ann Arbor Public Schools to advance student accomplishments, by providing a web-based customized view into individual student progress everyday. The increased functionality of PowerSchool Premier made this an easy decision," said Todd Roberts, superintendent of Ann Arbor school district.. "AS the SIS market leader, we are confident Pearson's longstanding industry expertise and comprehensive solutions to accomplish our student information management goals."
The information system is designed to increase interaction between teachers and parents, according to Pearson. School and classroom information that can be accessed online includes:
- Real-time attendance reports;
- Test grades;
- Descriptions of assignments;
- School bulletins;
- Lunch menus; and
- Messages from teachers.
Ann Arbor Public School district currently has 32 schools with 16,879 students enrolled in grades K-12.
