Notion Donates Music Composition Software to Schools

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Notion Music has donated 80 licenses of its pro music notation and composition software, Notion, to six schools and two colleges in North Carolina, totaling about $50,000 in software. The company had previously contributed 300 licenses to schools around the country earlier this year.

According to Notion, the latest license donations will be used to support the budget-constrained music education programs at the following schools in North Carolina:

  • Bennett College;
  • Cary Christian School;
  • Eastern Guilford High School;
  • Holly Springs High School;
  • Moss Street Elementary School;
  • Page Street Elementary School;
  • South Granville High School; and
  • Winston-Salem State University.

Notion is a music composition and notation suite that includes a library of sampled music from performers in the London Symphony Orchestra. It provides support for 128 instruments in a single score, 1,000-plus voice polyphony, a customizable sound library, MIDI input and import, real-time tempo changes, XML import and export, automatic score layout and alignment, WAV export, and various mixing features. It's available for Mac OS X and Windows.

Those wishing to request license donations can e-mail the request to [email protected].
