Student/Teacher Video Competition Finalists Named

Fifteen finalists have been named in Interwrite Learning's first "Classroom Makeover" contest, a competition that will award winners in three grade categories technology makeovers for their classrooms, valued at abut $15,000 each. The finalists were chosen from more than 220 entries from the United States, New Zealand, and Australia.

For the competition, one winner in each of three grade groups (K-5, 6-8, 9-12) will receive the makeover based on video submissions received by teachers and students. In the K-5 category, finalists include Canandaigua Primary School, Canandaigua, NY; Hildebran Elementary School, Hildebran, NC; Pt England School, New Zealand; Melissa Ridge Elementary, Melissa, TX; and Fairfield Elementary, Fairfield, TX.

Finalists in the Grade 6-8 category include: Lourdes Central Catholic, Nebraska City, NE; Red Bank Middle School, Red Bank, NJ; Ilminster Intermediate, Gisborne, New Zealand; Valley View Middle School, Edina, MN; and The Franklin Academy, Wake Forest, NC.

Finalists in the Grade 9-12 category include J.M. Tate High School, Cantonment, FL; Byron Center High School, Byron Center, MI; Hubbard High School, Hubbard, OH; Elsik 9th Grade Center, Houston, TX; and Highland Central High School, Highland, NY.
