Partnership for 21st Century Skills Elects Kuni, Hurley to Board

Paige Kuni, worldwide manager of K-12 education for Intel, has been elected board chair by The Partnership for 21st Century Skills, while Kathy Hurley, senior vice president of strategic partnerships for Pearson School and Pearson Foundation, will serve as vice chair.

Kuni will replace outgoing chair John Box, senior vice president for education at JA Worldwide. Kuni intends to enhance resources for states that have adopted The Partnership's Framework for 21st Century Learning, as well as lead the organization to increase the dialogue on 21st century learning skills. Some of the topics the organization plans to address under Kuni's leadership include 21st century skills, education, and competitiveness; the presidential transition and 21st century education outcomes; and hosting a National Summit on 21st century skills.

"The Partnership has done a great job building momentum for the incorporation of 21st century skills into the American education system," said Kuni, in a prepared statement. "This success is due to our dynamic board and partner states whose tireless efforts have been directed toward bringing 21st century teaching and learning to every child in America."

Also joining The Partnership are three new member organizations: K12, Learning Point Associates, and Scholastic Education. The new additions bring the total number of national members to 38.
