Online School Intros Virtual Clubs

Laurel Springs School has introduced virtual clubs for its middle and high school students after running a pilot project used to assess student participation.

"Online clubs are a wonderful way of building our virtual school community, deepening relationships, and giving students the opportunity to work collaboratively. These clubs' success validates that students can, and do, develop deep relationships in an online environment," said Marilyn Mosley Gordanier, executive director of Laurel Springs School.

The launch consisted of 17 online clubs focusing on areas of interest like astronomy, book club, creative writing, debate, French, music, technology, art, and Spanish.

Laurel Springs School is an accredited distance learning school with students located in 50 states and 43 countries.
