Black Box Launches Wireless Presentation System

Black Box has debuted its new Wireless Video Presentation System II, which is designed to transform wired projectors into wireless using a small 1.1-pound box. The company said setup and control are simple and the wireless projection can be controlled by a PDA. This system is usable for classrooms and other rooms equipped with VGA-resolution projectors.

The system accommodates 4-to-1 split-screen display for showing up to four desktop screens through one projector simultaneously. It supports music and video streaming, and a magnifier feature enlarges small videos to be displayed in full screen. When connected to a LAN or DSL/cable modem, it allows Internet browsing while projecting a computer screen.

The Wireless Presentation System II enables up to 254 people in the room to wirelessly stream video and audio to a projector from as far as 300 feet away so that, when different participants need to present to the rest of the class, there is no longer a need to swap cables. The Wireless Video Presentation System II plugs into any display device with a VGA port.

Presenters can connect a PDA phone (or other wireless mobile handheld device running Windows Mobile) via wireless Internet and present from the PDA. The system also allows moderation of the order of the projection sources using a Web-based control page. The control even allows the moderator to assign quadrants to each presenter during a 4-to-1 split-screen session.

The Wireless Presentation System II sells for $449.95.
