Pearson Launches Site for Teacher Certification Testing

Pearson has launched a newly redesigned and enhanced Web site for its National Evaluation Series (NES), which provides all the necessary materials related to teacher/educator certification exams it offers throughout the United States.

NES currently provides comprehensive certification exams aligned to national professional standards as well as the standards of the state issuing the certification. The upgraded site, NEStest.com, will offer teachers and teacher licensure candidates a one-stop access point for the rules and requirements for taking and passing each test, all of the preparatory and registration materials, and the results of practice and actual NES exams.

Pearson said it expects to have the upgraded site completed in late fall 2010. Among the key resources to be offered at the site are:

  • NES Profile: Free online study guides for each of the 33 certification exams offered through NES.
  • NES Practice: Series of practice exams for all 33 certification tests offered by NES, including immediate feedback with question-by-question analysis and guidance on improvements the user can make and how to pursue them. Practice exams are offered through NES Practice at $17.50 each.
  • Teacher Preparation Faculty Resources: A full range of tools and support materials to aid school faculty, such as mentors, and collegiate-level teacher education faculty in helping prepare teachers for their certification exams.
