Texas Charter School Network Upgrades to ERP System

With an expanding student body, Uplift Education, a charter school district in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX region has outgrown its current paper-based human resource and payroll system.

To address the needs of its 26 schools, 12 campuses, and 7,500 students, the charter school network signed an agreement with Prologic Technology to upgrade to Prologic's TEAMS (total education administrative management solution) enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

Designed specifically for school districts, the TEAMS system bundles financial, human resources, and student information into a single database. The advantage of having a centralized database is that data from each system can be shared in real-time between district teachers, students, administrators, and parents.

System modules include:

• Electronic jobs announcements;
• Employment contracts;
• Compensation packages;
• Recruitment;
• Scheduling;
• Certifications;
• Payroll records;
• Time card management; and
• Personnel budgeting.

"Our current paper-based system worked fine when we had one school, but with 7,500 students this year and a projected 13,000 by 2015, it didn't take long to realize we needed a solution that could scale with us," said Diana Meyer, director of human resources at Uplift Education, in a prepared statement. "Upgrading to TEAMS gives us the tools we need to eliminate our outdated paper processes, increase efficiencies, improve the transparency of our staff policies, and enhance the overall integrity of our data. The upgrade will also help to facilitate one of our strategic priorities, which is to hire and support the highest quality staff we can find."
