Teacher-Student Messaging Platform Launches Mobile Apps for Android, iOS

Remind101, a free messaging service for teachers to communicate safely with students and parents via text or email, has launched two mobile apps. Previously available only through a Web browser, Remind101 can now be accessed from Android and Apple iPhone mobile devices.

Teachers who sign up online for the free service can create as many as 10 classes or groups, assemble subscribers, and gain access to all of the Remind101 messaging features. Without having to share their personal phone numbers or collect numbers from students or parents, teachers can send out any type of communication, for instance, homework reminders, field trip updates, schedule changes, motivational messages, or information pertaining to upcoming parent-teacher conferences. New features include the ability to schedule messages for later delivery and access to message history.
In addition, faster message delivery is available to students and parents on their mobile devices through Remind101's updated user interface.
Features Include:

  • Students and parents can use any type of mobile phone to email or receive messages from teachers;
  • Messages can be sent to a group or entire class; and
  • A log of all sent messages provided for administration or audit needs.

"Teachers have embraced mobile devices in the classroom, so we're making it really simple and easy for them to use their mobile phones to access all the great Remind101 features," said Brett Kopf, co-founder and CEO of Remind101, in a prepared statement. "With the new apps on both Android and iPhone, teachers can use Remind101 to send a message when they're in the classroom, on a break, or while commuting. We're starting to see teachers in BYOD and 1:1 classroom situations use the apps as their primary method for classroom communication, which is really exciting. They tell us that Remind101 boosts engagement with their students and their students' parents."

Remind101's free, mobile messaging platform allows teachers to safely communicate with students and parents. For more information about Remind101, visit remind101.com.
