Curriki Debuts Free Project-Based Geometry Web Site
Curriki, an online community focused on open learning, has launched the Curriki Geometry Web site, a project-based geometry curriculum optimized for use on mobile devices.
Available for free, the course is "designed to meet the needs of students born in a global, interactive, digitally-connected world through the use of real-world examples, engaging projects, interactive technologies, videos and directed student feedback," according to a Curriki news release.
Features of the site include:
- Six Common Core-aligned projects;
- Separate access points for students and teachers;
- Pacing guides;
- Rubrics;
- Formative assessments;
- Guidance on managing project-based learning;
- Tools to assist teachers with student guidance; and
- Reflection tools for students and teachers.
"Curriki's project-based curriculum delivered through a mobilized platform engages students in learning geometry in a new and innovative way," said Nicole Anderson, executive director of philanthropy at Curriki sponsor AT&T, in a prepared statement. "It's exciting to see how the technology kids interact with every day is being applied to teaching and learning STEM skills, which are so critical for the jobs of the future."
