Resource Sharing Platform Like Searchable Dropbox for Education
Fulcrum, a new resource sharing platform, is aimed at making it easier for teachers to curate, find, and rate learning materials, like projects and quizzes, created by fellow educators, both within their district and across the country.
Free for teachers, the platform allows teachers to locate and curate materials via search, and tag content they wish to share themselves. While teachers can search a national database, results can be limited to internal, district-wide resources, like those requiring a special license. Findings are listed either by popularity or rating.
The just-launched platform also includes collaboration features like in-app messaging, commenting on specific materials, and the ability to follow specific users--and receive updates when they add new resources.
Nathan Allen, CEO of Andover Learning, the company behind the platform, sees Fulcrum as “a dynamic, education version of Box.com or Dropbox...”
“These features are just the beginning. We’re iterating intensively, and new features will be added every few weeks.” Updates may center on additional collaboration and social media tools.
