Classroom Management App Now Available in Multiple Languages

Classroom management software developer Netop has introduced a new version of its Vision ME iPad classroom workflow app, this one allowing the use of multiple languages in the classroom.

Describing the new version of the app as ideal for bilingual education, foreign language lessons and English language learners, Netop representatives announced that Vision ME is now available in English, Spanish, French, Dutch and German. An earlier version, released just last month, was available only in English and German.

Switching between languages is done simply by changing the iOS language setting, making it possible to teach in more than one language in the same day and accommodate classes with students who speak different languages.

"Almost 10 percent of U.S. public high school students are English language learners, most commonly Spanish speakers, and they face particularly tough challenges meeting educational expectations," said Netop CEO Kurt Bager. "We're pleased to offer bilingual educators and students tools that have been shown to improve learning outcomes."

Vision ME has a number of mobile device management capabilities, including the ability for teachers to selectively apply control features like "Attention" and "Web Lock" to individuals, groups or entire classes.

Among a number of features, with the Vision ME app, teachers can:

  • Use their iPads to present lessons to every student in a class as well as different groups or even individual students;
  • Allow students to make presentations to the rest of the class from their iPads;
  • Share files with students as well as those outside the classroom;
  • Use real-time chat to deliver messages to the entire class or individuals;
  • Lock devices during instruction or block Internet access when appropriate;
  • Post materials online and conduct instant quizzes and polls; and
  • Take advantage of assessment tools.

The latest version also includes more options for presenting and sharing files. Along with Google Drive and Dropbox, teachers and students can now select files stored in an iCloud drive or on their iPads.

Vision ME is available for a free 30-day trial and pricing starts at $7.50 per user with volume discounts available.
