Hatch Launches Dual Language Software for Pre-K Students

Hatch has launched a new program, Shell Squad Adventures — Dual Language, designed to help English language learners (ELL) in pre-K develop math and literacy skills in Spanish and prepare them for kindergarten in English.

The tool asks students to earn rewards and advance through 18 learning games and offers teachers live reports that can be shared with parents to track student progress in both English and Spanish. Using directly translated words and authentic photos, Shell Squad Adventures — Dual Language features audio recorded by a bilingual speech pathologist to ensure proper pronunciation.

"We designed Shell Squad Adventures – Dual Language software to give teachers the flexibility to choose the language of instruction that meets each child's needs and their program's requirements," said Susan Gunnewig, vice president of product development at Hatch, in a news release.
