Redesigned myON 3.0 Offers New Writing Tools

Incorporating feedback from administrators, teachers, library-media specialists and students, myON has redesigned its personalized literacy environment for pre-K–12. myON 3.0 includes new student and educator interfaces as well as advancements in content recommendations based on individual students’ interests and Lexile reading level. According to the company, other improvements include gamification and enhanced monitoring and reporting functions. The new version is available for free to all schools and district currently using myON.

The myON Literacy Toolkit now offers new close/active writing tools. Teachers can create assignments that direct students to write essays integrating their reading journal entries, graphic organizers and myON’s embedded dictionary — all within the myON platform.    

These updates are launching as the myON collection, which includes more than 10,000 enhanced titles from Capstone and 60 publishing partners, continues to grow on a monthly basis. The collection features 70 percent nonfiction and informational text and 30 percent fiction. Ten percent of the overall collection is dual-language text.
