Open Educational Resources

EduOnGo, EdGate Partner on OER Tool

EDUonGo, an e-learning platform, and EdGate Correlation Services, a provider of educational standards and correlation services, have partnered to help K-12 educators access free online resources, including open educational resources (OER).

The product is called EDUonGo + EdGate's Curriculum Matrix, and as the name suggests, it integrates the EDUonGo platform with resources from EdGate's Curriculum Matrix. Together they provide educators with a curated collection of more than 500,000 grade-specific online educational resources aligned to the Common Core and state standards and organized into course collections by subject area. Educators can use the Curriculum Matrix to search for and access resources and then use EDUonGo to customize and deliver them to students through the EDUonGo online learning environment.

"While free, online resources are a great alternative for schools to deliver effective curriculum at a lower cost," said Ridvan Aliu, CEO of EDUonGo, in a prepared statement, "sorting through them to find ones that are appropriate for a specific grade level and subject area, and aligning them to standards, is a daunting and time-consuming prospect for many teachers."

EDUonGo + EdGate's Curriculum Matrix is intended to address that challenge. "Through EdGate's partnership with EDUonGo, we are bringing order to the delivery of free and OER content in the context of educational standards," said Gina Faulk, general manager of EdGate, in a prepared statement.

The EDUonGo + EdGate's Curriculum Matrix will be offered through an annual subscription fee for individual teachers or entire school districts. For additional information or to sign up as a beta tester, visit EDUonGo's site.
