GestureTek Demos Large-Format Vertical Multi-Touch Display

GestureTek demonstrated earlier this month a new plug and play vertical multi-touch display that allows users to control the screen both with touch and with gesture recognition technology.

London School Deploys 802.11n WiFi

Oakington Manor Primary School (OMPS), located in the borough of Brent in London, England, U.K., has deployed 802.11n WiFi throughout the school. OMPS said it needed WiFi coverage that would ensure high speeds and adequate capacity for its 700-plus students working within an infrastructure that includes a radio station, a video conferencing system, an ICT suite, and a library featuring 3D devices.

Gefen has expanded its digital signage lineup with a new media player, a content creator, and a controller.

New York District Beefs Up Wireless LAN

Penn Yan Central School District in upstate New York reported that it's successfully deployed a new wireless local area network (WLAN) to cover all computers in the district, which enrolls more than 2,000 students in K-12 and adult education programs.

LG Single-Lens 3D HD Projector To Arrive in May

LG has revealed that it will ship its CF3D projector this May. The CF3D is a single-lens, high-definition 3D projector that was unveiled in January.

Florida District Deploys 7,000 Netbooks

Pinellas County Schools of Largo, FL has announced it has deployed more than 7,000 netbooks. Of these, 446 have been specifically allocated to the Melrose Elementary Center for Journalism and Multimedia, a K-5 magnet school.

Promethean Releases New Presentation Tool

Interactive technology provider Promethean released the ActiView 322, a document camera (or "visual presenter") from the ActivClassroom line that allows an entire class to view and work from a single document or object. The product is designed to work with all ActivBoard devices and is also adaptable to third-party technology.

3M Debuts Mpro150 Pico Projector

3M has introduced its new Mpro150, a pico projector that the company said combines the advantages of a pico projector coupled with several presentation tools not usually found in devices in the pico category.

InFocus Adds 5 Projectors to Entry-Level Lines

InFocus has announced that it will add five new DLP-based projectors to its entry-level lineups. These projectors, part of the IN2100 and IN3100 series, are designed for higher brightness than most entry-level projectors, with 3,000 to 3,500 lumens, and are designed for projecting images in classrooms with a variety of lighting conditions.

Samsung LED-Based Data Projector To Deliver 1,000 Lumens

Samsung announced recently that it's developed a new LED-based data projector that will deliver a brightness of 1,000 ANSI lumens.
