Open source learning management system Moodle is gaining additional Web conferencing capabilities thanks to a new open source plugin from Remote-Learner that integrates the LMS with the Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro service.
PBS and WPSU, the network affiliate operated by Penn State University, in partnership with the PA Department of Education, will be bringing the Digital Learning Library (DLL) to classrooms throughout the state.

OLAT, an open source learning management system (LMS), has been updated to version 6.3, expanding various media resources, adding new search capabilities, and enhancing notifications and reporting.
Blackboard is preparing to release Blackboard Mobile Learn, a new version of the company's flagship learning management system tailored for smart phones and other mobile devices. The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) has renewed its statewide license on the assistive software Read:OutLoud 6, which reads digital books aloud for students with print disabilities. Developed by Don Johnston Inc. and licensed through George Mason University's Accessible Instructional Materials Center (AIM-VA), the software helps approximately 170,000 students in 1,900 Virginia public schools.
Web-based K-5 curriculum provider LessonPathways has announced that its curriculum and planner, previously offered via paid subscription, are now available as a free, advertiser-supported service.
