IBM's NetVista A Series
With IBM's NetVista A
Series, educators get a range of desktop systems to choose from. The
NetVista A Series aims to deliver both power and performance in a
sleek, but practical design without breaking the bank. Like most
desktop systems these days, the NetVista A Series comes with Intel
processors with speeds up to 2.0 GHz, SDRAM memory that can be
expanded to 3.0 GB (varying by model) and hard drives that can be
upgraded to 80 GB. Video graphics for series models range from Intel
3-D graphics with Direct AGP to a 4X AGP slot, and 16, 32 and 64 MB
cards. All models come with an Intel 10/100 Ethernet with Wake on LAN
and several front and rear ports. With NetVista, educators can also
take advantage of a host of optional multimedia features, including
expansive video card options and a speaker system with a subwoofer.
They can also choose from a wide range of compatible monitors,
including power-saving high resolution flat panel displays that
deliver bright, crisp images in addition to standard CRTs. Norton
Antivirus, Netscape Navigator, Access IBM, Microsoft Office
applications and operating systems are also included, but vary by
model. IBM, White Plains, NY, (888) SHOP-IBM, www.ibm.com.
