Imagination Station Provides Interactive Reading Instruction, Assessment

istation.com recently announced the availability of   The Imagination Station (www.istation.com), a proprietary Web-based interactive education network featuring an integrated reading instruction and intervention program designed to teach all preK-3 children to read. Aligned to the NCLB Act, the network was designed to augment classroom instruction. In addition, its assessment back end collects performance data on each child and provides continuous assessment services to schools.

The centerpiece of the company's product strategy is "The Imagination Station" network, a kid-friendly Internet-based distribution platform for istation-compatible educational software products. It is also able to service a school with hundreds of children using little more than a 56K modem, and can function normally even when a school's Internet connection is lost. The company's first istation-compatible product is a research-based reading instruction and intervention program that interactively teaches alphabetic principle, phonemic awareness, "graphophonemic" knowledge, vocabulary and comprehension.
