KidBiz3000 and TeenBiz3000
Achieve3000
(www.achieve3000.com) is offering two Web-based
reading programs that focus on building students’ comprehension
and vocabulary skills, customized to their Lexile reading levels.
KidBiz3000 (grades 2-8) and TeenBiz3000 (grades 9-12) send
students reading assignments on current events via e-mail. The
differentiated approach of KidBiz and TeenBiz means that each
child gets to read at his own level and pace (even ESL/ELL learners),
while covering the same material as classmates. The
programs offer students resources such as writing and
technology centers, even a stock market simulation
game. For teachers, the programs provide a variety of
reports to track student progress and help keep students
on task. Pricing varies.
