Adopt-An-Author

Adopt-An-Author (www.adoptanauthor.com) is a free, Webbased, nationwide non-profit program designed to excite students about reading and writing through the use of best-selling thrillers, heroic nonfiction stories, and motivational books chosen by the site because they are fun and interesting. Designed by author Steve Alten, the site includes works from six authors and has curriculum suggestions for teachers, as well as fun games, quizzes, and projects designed to challenge students and test their knowledge. Adopt- An-Author also offers direct contact (via personal appearances, classroom phone calls, e-mails, and interactive Web sites) between the authors and students during the reading and learning process.
