Cisco Creates Web Portal for Students to Explore IT

Packetville

Cisco Systems has launched Packetville (www.cisco.com/go/packetville), a free eLearning Web portal rich with interactive and educational resources that introduces students aged 8-14 to the wonders of the Internet as it relates to math, science, realworld solutions, education, and careers. With the help of animated characters Peter and Penny Packet, the portal incorporates “gaming” techniques to introduce and connect students to IT, while getting them to explore how IT helps individuals and communities worldwide. Packetville also includes a variety of teaching aids, lesson plans, and other valuable resources mapped to ISTE standards for parents, administrators, instructors, and guidance counselors.
