Interactive Books to Help Districts Reduce Injury-Related Costs

QBooks

In an effort to educate faculty members about how they can reduce injury-related costs, QBInternational (www.qube.com/elearning/ebooks.asp) has created two interactive, onlinegame- based learning QBooks for two California school districts. The San Francisco USD QBooks will cover student safety, insurance, and riskmanagement issues associated with school field trips, while San Diego City Schools’ specialeducation teachers will use their QBooks to help reduce back injuries in the classroom. Designed around a “learn-byplay” methodology, QBooks let users learn at their own pace by combining the look and feel of an actual book with the interactivity of a Web page. Each QBook is also supported by a variety of QGames, which are online learning activities designed to maximize retention and understanding of QBook content.
