Brother Updates Laser Printer Series

Brother's 19 page-per-minute HL-1850 and HL-1870N laser printers are replacement models for the company's HL-1600 series. The new models retain the line's standard built-in automatic duplex printing, three-color backlit LCD user control panels and sleek form. The HL-1850 and HL-1870N each come with 16 MB and 32 MB of memory (expandable to 144 MB), respectively, offer up to three pages per minute faster print speed, and a 33 percent increase in monthly duty cycle over their predecessors. They also utilize Brother's HQ1200 print technology (2,400 x 600 dpi), which allows the laser printers to produce the best quality output at any speed.

Both laser printers are compatible with Windows and Mac platforms, and now support Postscript printing via USB. A 10/100 BaseT Ethernet Print Server is optional with the HL-1850 model and comes standard with the HL-1870N. Both models also feature "one-touch job reprint" and "job cancel" buttons, as well as a "secure print" function that offers password protected printing.
