Apple, Gateway Offer Free Teacher Resources

Through the end of the year, educators can take advantage of Apple’s “X for Teachers” program, which offers a free copy of Mac OS X v10.2 Jaguar to every K-12 teacher in the country. Jaguar combines a UNIX-based foundation with Macintosh’s ease-of-use to create an operating system for teaching, learning and administration. Jaguar comes with free copies of Apple’s Digital Hub applications: iMovie, iPhoto and iTunes. Complete eligibility requirements are available online at www.apple.com/education/macosxforteachers.

In addition, Gateway is offering teachers and school administrators free access to technology training classes in their retail stores if they enroll by Dec. 31, 2002. Classes range from basic courses like “Get Started With Your PC” and “Communicate and Connect With the Internet” to digital lifestyle classes like “Create and Share Digital Photos.” Also included are classes on word processing, presentations and desktop publishing.

Educators can enroll in Gateway’s technology training classes by calling (888) 852-4821. For a complete list of classes in the course catalog, visit www.learnwithgateway.com.
