This year, there are five categories, which have been refined to reflect the growth in education technology and digital content. A winner from each category will receive a $3,000 cash prize and an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, DC, in spring 2006. ENCOURAGING SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIPS.

The Council for Corporate and School Partnerships is accepting applications for its National School and Business Partnerships Award through Jan. 30, 2006. The award, which supports and recognizes the efforts of K-12 schools and businesses that improve the academic, social, or physical wellbeing of students, will endow six exemplary school-business partnerships with $10,000 each. Founded by Coca-Cola Co. in 2001, the council serves as a forum for the exchange of information, expertise, and ideas to ensure that partnerships between schools and businesses achieve their full potential for meeting key education objectives. For an application, as well as to download two foundational documents that can serve as guides for potential applications (Guiding Principles for Business and School Partnerships and A How-To Guide for School-Business Partnerships), visit www.corpschoolpartners.org
