FRONTROW’S ToGo sound system is so portable, it can be used outside (on its battery power, which lasts a full school day). The case weighs less than 15 pounds, but it encloses two speakers designed in a super-directional array to do the job of a multispeaker system. ToGo clarifies and evenly distributes the teacher’s voice so that students in every seat can hear and the teacher’s vocal cords are protected from strain. In addition, the systemcan be purchased with a microphone that students can pass around. Price: $899.
