3/12/2007—New York-based education services provider Kaplan Inc has acquired Princeton, NJ-based EduNeering Holidngs, a developer of technology-enabled knowledge and education solutions.

EduNeering is recognized as a pioneer in technology-based learning. For instance, after partnering with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, EduNeering created a virtual university for the FDA’s Office of Regulatory Affairs. The curriculum, which was designed to ensure proficiency of more than 30,000 federal, state and local investigators, was then offered to the life sciences industry. The buy bolsters Kaplan, which provides educations services covering four major areas: Kids and Schools, Test Preparation and Admissions, Higher Education, and Career Advancement through its Kaplan Professional service. EduNeering’s current management team will become part of Kaplan Professional.

Announcing its acquisition plans on Feb. 15, Washington Post. Co. subsidiary Kaplan and EduNeering must still wait for the Federal Trade Commission to clear the deal.
