Autodesk, Innovation First Launch Robotics Curriculum

Robotics developer Innovation First has teamed up with software developer Autodesk to develop a new curriculum for robotics education. The curriculum will be included in the Vex Robotics Classroom Lab Kits and will also be available separately this spring.

Known as the Vex Robotics Inventor Curriculum, the program was developed in conjunction with educators ad "technology experts" to be applicable at secondary and post-secondary levels. It includes 18 modules, each with lessons and activities and details of the concepts involved. The curriculum is focused around Autodesk's Inventor software. (One seat of Inventor is included with the Classroom Lab Four Robot Bundle Package; two seats are included with the Classroom Lab Eight Robot Bundle Package.)

Beginning this spring, the Vex Robotics Inventor Curriculum will be included with Vex Robotics Classroom Lab Kits free. As a standalone, single-semester curriculum, it will run $199.

The Vex Robotics site also provides free education and classroom support materials for download, including activities, course outlines and proposals, assessments, rubrics, miscellaneous resources, and games and challenges

More information about the Vex Robotics Classroom Lab Kits can be found here.
