Chief Launches Classroom Amplification System
Chief's CoPilot AV system includes video hardware and classroom audio amplification gear, with support for assisted listening as well. |
Chief, a division of Milestone AV Technologies that specializes in AV mounts and racks, has rolled out a new video hardware and audio amplification system designed for use in classrooms.
For enhanced audibility in instruction, the new room system, CoPilot, offers a 25 watt amplifier, a wireless module, two microphones, and two plenum speakers.
The wireless microphones, consisting of a lanyard-style microphone for teachers and a handheld model for students, use RF technology and offer a range of 40 feet.
For students with hearing disabilities that may not benefit from amplified audio, the CoPilot system offers an assisted listening kit that employees a double gang-mounted module and ADA-compliant assisted listening receivers.
The video side of the system uses a module that accepts S-video and VGA inputs while routing a VGA out signal that can be sent to any number of devices. A universal mount, suspended ceiling kit, and extension column, are provided for projector-based systems.
Both audio and video components can be operated manually from a double gang-mounted control pad or remotely using Chief's system administration software.
The Web-based administration software offers the ability to control an individual room or groups of rooms from any computer networked within the building.
Multiple systems can be connected to a school's PA, allowing announcements to be made to individual rooms or groups of rooms as well. Intercom override and fire alarm override features are built in.
