EdWeb Launches Free Professional Development Initiative

EdWeb.net has launched a free professional online learning community for new teachers called New Teacher Help.

EdWeb is a social network for educators to connect with peers and share information through blogs, discussions, file sharing, calendars, wikis, chat, messaging, polling, and links.

New Teacher Help will feature monthly webinars and chats presented by Shannon Holden on topics including:

  • Dealing with difficult parents;
  • Making a good first impression;
  • The first week of school; and
  • Building relationships with students, parents, administrators, and colleagues.

Holden has 20 years of experience as a teacher and administrator and created NewTeacherHelp.com in 2009 to help reduce the high attrition rate of new teachers.

More information on New Teacher Help is available here and at Holden's site. Further information about edWeb is available here.
