Brainchild Launches Professional Development Program for Kineo

Brainchild has launched a professional development program for K through 12 teachers using the Kineo tablet.

The Android-based Kineo debuted in February and is designed to work with Brainchild's Achiever! assessment and instruction software.

The new professional development program begins with an evaluation of the school's software resources, data and measurement tools, physical infrastructure, classroom set-up, and teacher experience. Brainchild specialists then develop a training and implementation plan that covers topics such as planning and technology deployment, curriculum integration, and data analysis.

Options include:

  • In-service training;
  • One-on-one onsite training;
  • Refresher courses;
  • Leadership workshops; and
  • Data analytics for progress monitoring.

Courses being offered this summer include response to intervention, school improvement programs, and summer school for students preparing to take exit exams.

Also this summer, schools in Texas, Alabama, and Florida are using onsite technology specialists from Brainchild. The specialists, graduate students from a nearby college of education, use data from each day's classes to train the teachers to adjust individual and small group lessons for subsequent days. According to information released by the company, "One such program has resulted in retest pass rates of over 90 percent."

More information on the Kineo is available at brainchild.com. More information about Brainchild's professional development program is also available at brainchild.com or at ISTE 2011 through June 29 in booth 3219.
