Acer America has launched a new sub-$300 pico projector that produces a native wide VGA-resolution image at distances of 15.75 inches to 12.1 feet.

The Acer C120 is a DLP-based (0.3" DMD) pico projector that offers a native 854 x 480 (WVGA) resolution, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and light output of up to 100 lumens via an LED-based lamp.

Other features include:

  • Up to 20,000-hour lamp life (LED);
  • Throw ratio of 1.65:1;
  • Support for up to 1,280 x 800 (WXGA) resolution;
  • 24-bit color with Acer ColorSafe technology;
  • USB 3.0 for display and power in economy mode (75 lumens); and
  • AC adapter for displaying at full brightness (100 lumens).

The palm-sized projector measures 4.7" x 3.2" x 1" and weighs in at 6.34 ounces.

The C120 ultraportable projector is available in the United States for $259. It includes a one-year warranty. Additional details can be found on Acer's AV portal.
