SmartDesk Ships ADA-Compliant Cirrus Furniture Line With Motorized Option

Smartdesks has launched the Cirrus line, furniture designed to be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

With features such as optional motorized lift capability and adjustable height, the new line is designed to allow for easier access for students with special needs as well as for accommodating group collaboration.

The ergonomic desks and tables can be adjusted between different settings to allow seated or standing use. The new line includes ratchet adjustable desks/table, spring-pin, pneumatic, and motorized lift options.

Features of the new line include:

  • Locking casters and stable table legs to make worktops steady;
  • No-bounce sliding and safety mechanisms; and
  • Vertical storage capability.

A variety of height options exist with ratchet tables offering 13 total height settings in .78-inch increments, while spring pin tables can go from 24- to 30-inches-tall in one-inch increments. The pneumatic floating option is adjustable between 26 and 43.7 inches.

A motorized option offers height adjustment at the push of a button, the ability to save three specific heights, and adjustment speed of 1.97 inches per second. An ergonomic tabletop can be set between 26 and 45.7 inches for a total range of adjustment of 19.89 inches.

Available connectivity options include a Villa power data port that features two RJ45 data connectors and two 110VAC power connections and wire management is accomplished via a cable pass-through.

The flexibility allows for use by students in wheelchairs or by students and staff who wish to collaborate on foot around a shared table, for example with art or science projects.
